The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the public notice for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test [(NEET (UG)] 2026, marking the beginning of the admission process for undergraduate medical courses across India. Aspirants aiming for a career in medicine must take note of the strict timeline set by the NTA. The online application window is currently open, having started on February 8, 2026, and will close on March 8, 2026, at 09:00 P.M.. Successful transaction of the application fee can be done until 11:50 P.M. on the same closing date. It is vital for candidates to submit their forms within this period, as no applications will be accepted through any mode other than the official online portal. The examination itself will be of 180 minutes (3 hours) duration, timing from 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM (IST).

Understanding the fee structure is an essential part of the registration process. For the 2026 session, the application fee has been set at ₹1700/- for General category candidates. Candidates belonging to the General-EWS and OBC-NCL categories are required to pay ₹1600/-, while the fee for SC, ST, PWBD, and Third Gender candidates is ₹1000/-. Additionally, processing charges and Goods and Services Tax (GST) are applicable over and above these amounts. The NTA has also emphasized that the exam will be conducted in 13 languages, including English, Hindi, Urdu, and several regional languages, ensuring accessibility for students from diverse linguistic backgrounds.

  • Visit the Official Website: Access the official NTA NEET portal at https://neet.nta.nic.in/ to begin the registration process.
  • Online Registration: Register using your own or your parent's/guardian's unique email address and mobile number, as all official communication will be sent to these contacts.
  • Fill the Application Form: Log in with your credentials and fill in the required personal, academic, and contact details accurately.
  • Upload Documents: Upload scanned copies of your recent passport-sized photograph, signature, and address proof as per the specifications in the Information Bulletin.
  • Pay the Examination Fee: Complete the process by paying the requisite fee using Credit/Debit Card, Net-Banking, or UPI before the deadline of March 8, 2026.
  • Download Confirmation Page: Once the payment is successful, download and print the Confirmation Page for future reference.
