Members of Thathri Development Front (TDF), Doda, have urged J&K Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha; Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah; MP Dr. Jatinder Singh; MLAs-Daleep Singh Parihar and Mehraj Malik to create a separate Tourism Development Authority for Sub-Division Thathri.

In a handout, Front president Kuldeep Rao said that Sub-Division Thathri has five Tehsils including Thathri which have been totally ignored by the successive governments.

“No tourist spot has been developed in Sub Division Thathri as the naturally beautiful places like Jantron Dhar, Mata Rashwar Temple, Lamote Dhar etc which start from Panshee and ends at Goilla, can be easily developed as tourist attraction places like Gulmarg,” he maintained.

The Front members have appealed to all those at the helm to look into the matter and issue directions to the concerned authorities to take immediate necessary steps to complete the development works in Thathri.

Rao also said that Kahara-Jai road, which is complete up to Joura Kalan (85 per cent of the total length), needs to be completed from Joura to Jai (6 kms length) while the 19 kms sanctioned Thathri-Chirra road project is complete from its initial point Jangalwar Nallah to Chirra (length 14 kms) and the remaining 5 kms from Chirra to Gallu Top needs to be constructed immediately.

“If Gallu Top is linked to Joura (2 kms only) on Kahara-Jai road, 90 per cent link between tourist places will be achieved and if Joura Khurd (road already complete) is linked to Chirala-Panshaee road, it will benefit a large section of the public there,” Rao claimed.
